what can you legally get away with number plate wise? I do like the german metal plate look but dont really want to be pulled over all the while .

You can have pressed plates, but they must be standard font and have a BS number.

Legally it has to have the GB sign. Depends how much you want to push your luck.
Coppers hate them, they don't even like pressed metal legal font.
