cylinder head help please

hiya all
i have been offered a cylinder head for my 1986 325 sport but how do i know if its from a 320 - 323 or 325
is there any difference between the early 325 heads and the later 325 cylinder heads?

I'd take head's part number and go to or call a dealer for a check. I think that's the safest possible ways.

It will have a mark on the side of the head, between cylinders 1 & 2 on the exhaust side. I have a pic somewhere



You can just see in the pic, mine's stamped 2.5 / 2.7 for a 2.5 engine.
