e38 740i weigh it or strip it?

i,ve got a 740i 4.4 that has i think blown head gaskets,is it worth stripping these or just weigh it in,good cond car,type 32 wheels staggered 18s etc

You might aswell sell what you can and scrap the rest. I don't think there's any point keeping parts.

I'd ring a BMW breaker - you should get £400+ for it as is but I'd break it because you should get a grand from it. The wheels are worth money as are a few other bits - unrusty fuel tank, clear rear lights, autobox, fuel pump, front end panels, radiator, alternator (especially a water cooled one on late '98 onwards cars), cut both cats off (50 quid each), good clean stuts, various motors.
No point in fixing it, but I would list it on Ebay as breaking (auction for an indicator lens for 99p) and see how youb get on. The leather's worth nothing because all E38's have it but a mint black trim might be worth a hundred quid. You'd get 50-100 quid for the old engine. What year is it?

it,s a 96 with the m62 lump,clear rear lights,fronts,good wings v12 grill chrome,early steering wheel etc etc wheels refurbed 18 month ago.

If you have the space, it's worth breaking. Clear rear lights are worth £60-80 alone.
