Where should the blue sensor go? IIRC it should be on top of the thermostat housing?

What is the other one next to it?

And what would happen if they were the wrong way around?

One sensor supplies a signal for the ECU and the other one is for your temp gauge.

ECU 2 pin sensor
Temp gauge 1 pin sensor

Both should be in the 'stat housing i think

Andy, I'm asking is the Ecu (Blue) the one on top and the temp on the side? And what would happen if they were the wrong way around?

I seem to remember you can't get them the wrong way round as the connectors are different .....

You can get them the wrong way around, as one has 1 pin and the other has 2 pins, but they still fit each other.

Chu, what is the problem...? Are you unsure of which one is which? If so, just take a look, the brown has one pin, and the wiring connector will only have one pin too, where as the blue will have 2.

I can remember which plug has one pin, but both the wires have two connecters.

Anyways i've swapped them over and the engine idles smoother although i've had to move it throttle body screw quite a bit to get a good idle speed. It also feels smoother to drive, and seems to be better on fuel. On a small test run I got 18.5mpg 8) That's alot better than 14.7mpg I normally average (driving economically)

But the temp gauge is dead.

I don't know what's going on

doh!!! it don't work too good when its cold. I'll swap the wires back and replace the blue sensor.

The blue sensor seems to be in the wrong place tho :? It looks like it's blocked by the fuel rail :cheese:

I'm off to give it a go :bolt:

You can just about see which goes where.

I presume mine are the right way around.

The screw on the throttle body is nothing to do with idle speed! Put it back where it was - you're just giving yourself multiple faults!
