well if you want a fast road cam then you have a choice of the catcams 274dg or schrick 284/272dg.
after that your looking at very lumpy cams & a dodgy idle.
use the search function & you'll be surprised at the results you get.

if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

I've got the 274 Catcam in mine and cant recommend it highly enough, below 3000 rpm its all very civilised but climb past it and you get a savage noise and a shove in the back
Rust is lighter than carbon fibre.

i would go for the schrick, the catcam 285 (formely 273) is good for topend but all the dyno plots show they are lame off cam which is not ideal for the street
E30 325is with M20B31

the shrick works out quite acceptable if you look at the exchange rates.
go for the schrick, its most likely what i will do.

My 325 was making 172 bhp with a rebuilt standard motor with a fairly decent exhaust and standard manifold. If I was to fit a cam shaft any ideas what sort of power it would make? Just weighing up the options as got an m52 in stock but might not fit for a year or so but curious to optimise the m20

My cabrio is in the process of being completed.
With a shrick cam. Btb 6 branch and a wild chip
From 170bhp it should be towards 192bhp+

I went for a 272 Schrick for my current M20B28 build, anything more and I was getting into clearances issues.
I bought mine from this guy on eBay, http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/europetoameri ... 7675.l2559 Worked out much cheaper than anywhere else and the parts come straight from Schrick so no import fee worries.

How is the drive and performance improvement since fitting your cam?

Yes Rob, I've read plenty of people say they've retained the old springs and been OK. I chose to go with the Schrick springs to cover my arse since the lump will have cost a good whack of money, not worth the risk IMO.
