ive got a 325i sports auto and ive got it up for sale its a very clean car but not had a call or email on it do you all think its cus its an auto and do you think i should convert it to manual ??
A lack of interest maybe down to price, however imo a manual 325 will always sell before an auto,
if you do convert then you'll need a box from a sport or a box from a 320, i maybe wrong regarding the 320 box but i'm sure that some one will correct me if wrong.

it'll cost you the best part of a grand to do the conversion properly (gearbox, clutch, pedal box, master and slave cylinders and the auto stuff is not worth much for selling on.

This. And then you will be competing against all the other manual sports out there. Autos are rare BUT there are people who like them and will seek them out.

I would quite happily buy an auto over a manual any day. Having driven both a Manual and auto 325i I prefer the way the auto drives. I tend to waft about rather than kick the arse out of my cab.
It's probably an age thing and the lack of desire to go sideways in a cloud of smoke for me but the auto suits an e30 well.

Where have you got it for sale? It could be down to a number of factors. Crap advert, over optimistic pricing etc etc.zimmerestate wrote:ive got a 325i sports auto and ive got it up for sale its a very clean car but not had a call or email on it do you all think its cus its an auto and do you think i should convert it to manual ??
I always used to ignore autos, but now I'd rather have a solid shell than a manual gearbox. It would be a ball ache to convert to manual, but IMHO more attractive than trying to save a rotten turd. My current E30 is an auto and I don't really mind driving them.
just done 2002 e46 330d sport conversion from an auto to 6 speed manual, cost me 405 quid (had to buy new propshaft coupling for 55 quidTopblag wrote:it'll cost you the best part of a grand to do the conversion properly (gearbox, clutch, pedal box, master and slave cylinders and the auto stuff is not worth much for selling on.

Not many auto' sports out there. Even better than 'ebay rare'.And then you will be competing against all the other manual sports out there. Autos are rare BUT there are people who like them and will seek them out.

you should convert it and then keep it once you drive it with a proper manual box in you wont want to sell it! Thats what i think anyway.
