bit of a strange one this is.

found out that the viscous coupling for the fan on my 325i is on it's way out, so after having a dig about in the shed i found a as new unused universal fan (14" pull or push) with the wiring but no instructions.

now what i need to know is how do i go about wiring it up? & how do i go about making sure it's set up as a pusher fan?

only slight problem is i no longer have the box or instructions & i need to have the car back on the road in the next few days.

sorry to be a bit vague but i'm sure you know what it's like lol.

the type of fan i've got can be found on ebay for about £25.

help me out if you can please folks.

forgot to add,

i get the feeling i'll need a temp sensor &/or a switch but as you might have guessed i don't have either.

if i do need them & i'm pretty sure i do does anyone know where to get them from??

Its much easier and cheaper to fit another viscous coupling. It will also do a better job of cooling the radiator 8)

the reason i want to use the electric fan is because i had one on my old tech 1 sport & found it used to cool the engine better than the viscous fan because it was pushing the air through the rad & therefore helped when stuck in traffic in the summer (you ever been to skegness in the summer? traffic jams everywhere lol).

thing is it was fitted at a garage ages ago & i don't know what parts they used or how they went about it.

i know a few folk on here done it before but i can't find anything about it,
so...........................could someone help me out with a list of what i need & how to do it?? please??

right just done a bit of digging & i found out there is a untapped boss/blanking plate on the left hand side of the rad where you can fit a thermo switch (like on the e34 rad with air con) & there (should be) 2 unused positions for relays in the fuse box but after that i'm stuck lol.

looks like i'll have to keep digging around unless someone has any info that'll help me winkeye winkeye

Yes will fit fine, the fan itself has more blades than the E30 and they usually pull more air
