That's another reason why I love E30's, they kick ass in the MOT !! (as long as you keep'em tidy), and I am really excited. Working on the car ends for a while and the joy of driving it starts again !!!

Only one advisory note: 'Brake warning light stayin on - wire not connected'
Any ideas what this means ?????

And now the mood braker: the MOT guy snapped the key in the ignition and the other half is in there like a knob, and now I am waiting for the locksmith to fix it... It was in the way out anyway, but have no copies !!!, as I was worried about other parts in my car. You reckon is going to cost me much ??

Cheers !

It's great when they pass first time!

Brake warning light, probably the red indicator on the cluster, shows as a circle, with some dashes around it. This is for the brake pad warning, there's one at the front N/S wheel, and one at the rear O/S wheel.

Shame about the lock incident!

Surely if the tester snapped your key, then it his his/their responsibilty to have it fixed?

They must have insurance to cover any such incidents.

Thanks Simon !

I see... that light !! - my mates and I decided that it was useless since you can check with the fingers and decided to leave it there for the moment. No harm done apart for being annoying. Although i will put the cables back at some point.

The costs of the lock issue is really bugging me, no idea how much Im going to have to pay for it.

definately the garages problem fixing your ignition, they had your car at the time and they broke the key so they should pay to fix it, and as fushion_julz says they have insurance to cover claims, get back on the phone to them when you know how much its going to cost to fix...just dont go back there for next years mot :D

that's exactly what I did, after giving it a bit of thought I rang the locksmith, who by the way had been called by the garage when the issue arised, and he came home to fix it.

Now, half of the key was in the ignition swith, and the locksmith tried and tried to get the key off without success. I rang the garage, spoke to the manager, and he is going to talk to the locksmith about costs by the look of it...
Anyway, I do believe also that they have to pay the costs, so I am going to do my best in chasing them to pay the new lock. They snapped the key while in their possesion and its not mine to pay, so will see what happens tomorrow...

And yes, they do have an insurance to cover this, and they denied it when I asked : what a bunch of liars.

I am trying to keep it positive at the mo, me and a couple of mates have worked hard to keep my baby on the road and finally I can enjoy it - as soon as I can swich it on !

I hope this helps other drivers too, if they are in the same situation.
