Hi all
I am new to the site so please forgive any errors in the way I submit my post.
I am looking for a wiring diagram for my 316 it has the pierburg 2be carb fitted, the problem is I have no power to any of the control solonoids resulting in hard starting & high idle speed

The ECU is under the dash on the drivers side. Not a problem I have ever come across to be honest. Most of the dramas happen when they power up ! :(

Hi thanks for the reply, the info I am looking for is where the power supplies come from the ecu to the carb mounted controls, like choke and the idle control

Try Google "BMW E30 316 carburetor"

There are a fair amount of hits for common problems, idle problems etc. :)

That link brings back a lot of vague memories from near on twenty years ago, when I had one of these with the usual problems. I spent ages tracing the wiring and working out exactly how it was all supposed to work, and did get it all woring for short periods.
IIRC, I ended up fitting some sort of throttle stop to cure the stalling.
My ordeal with the thing ended when someone let me drive a 325 touring they had for sale. Couldn't go back to a 316 after that, so it was sold at a considerable profit to someone who fitted a Weber kit to it.
