Iam doing the m52 swap and wondering if it would make sense to do e36 rack at same time as e36 rack pipework would surely fit straight onto m52 steering pump and save hassle of adapting e30 rack to fit it? Are there any benefits of e46 over e36 rack also?

E46 rack and E36 rack are basically the same (3.4 turn) unless you use the E46 clubsport rack '067' type (3.0 turn).

Don't be fooled into thinking that because you are putting an E36 rack AND engine in together everything will marry up happily because it won't :) You still need a custom UJ, and pipes. The E30 and E36 subframes are in different positions etc.
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

E46 and E36 racks, although they are the same amount of turns lock to lock they are a much different feel, the E46 is much smoother/nicer to use.
E36 rack is old scrap now, I wouldnt advise to fit one when there are so many E46 racks available.

Any custom parts you require feel free to drop me a pm

If an E46 rack is used will the E34 uj system used on an E36 rack work on it? :)

If you use modified manifolds do you still need to use the e34 u/j's and splined shaft or can you get away with doing one or the other or is both the best idea?
