Your problem lies in wanting to retain the factory headlining and trims with a sunroof delete...

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

One on mine was done using a piece of Ford Capri roof skin to retain the profile of the roof. I can't take credit for the work though!

May,just,be easier and cheaper to see if BMW can supply a non-sunroof skin and have that fitted.....

not sure about cheaper Malc, I was told a 2nd hand skin is ~£150 & a dealer price would be 3 times that I reckon! @ OP, unless you're exceptional with a sewing machine, you'll have to search a non sunroof replacement headlining. It'll be well worth the faff though

I thought £150 was a bit wild.. £30 is much more like it

why on earth or even how, would you go to all the effort and bother of turning it from sunroof in to non sunroof...yet want to keep the factory sunroof head lining, it would look a bit daft
,and anyway youd have to remove all the head lining to do the roof...so you just aswell source and fit a non sunroof head lining when its done, surely ?

am thinking about restoring this car but the roof is my main stumbling block at the mo cos if its not right then the whole job will be for nothing! am not bothered about the sunroof as i think even on a good/restored car it will become a pain again in the future,i need to keep the factory headlining as someone pointed out black headlinings are rare in either form...is it possible to get a new cartridge because i dont think removing one from a donor car and then refitting will be possible due to the nightmare of removal.
