I've just picked up a cheap 325 se saloon and I've come across a problem whilst getting it ready for its MOT.

It is an f reg (89) and it has a two part exhaust system, however eurocarparts only list a 3 part system, so I've ordered the full 3 part system but the question is:

Will the 3 part system fit my car or will I need to get hold of a different exhaust manifold to go with it?

-apologiesif this is a total newbie question, but I am new to 6pots!

Sorry, I missed this thread earlier.

One of the key differences in M20 exhausts concerns the manifold outlet. SOme have three studs, some have four, some have two separate flanges and some have the two pipes joined into a diamond-shape flange. All of these factors determine which downpipe you use, and then the downpipe determines whether a two- or three-piece system is fitted. All systems fit all cars though.

For future reference, the 3 part system from eurocarparts does replace the old 2 part system. I have fitted it now, with now real issues, but you do need to retain one of the flangeclamps from the old system and use it on the new system. It goes on the slip pipe on one side of the downpipe and seals a ring gasket to the flange on the centre section.
