Is there a recommended brand, or material used for valve cover gaskets? I had a leaky V4 and tried all types of gaskets before finding a pure silicone aircraft style that finally cured it.
My 320i is leaking onto the plugs and manifold and putting up a stench. Would like to get the gasket right the first time.
valve cover gasket recomendations ?

Never had a problem with the stock gasket.
Do take care not to trap the throttle cable between the head and rocker cover,it cracks the rocker cover as well as leaking oil!
Make sure that both surfaces are spotless, and do not overtighten the cover's nuts.

Also most of the time a leak from the rocker cover is from the d shaped rubber bungs that go into the head at the front and rear.
