Hello all, just picked up a 320i convertible and have a few problems I could do with a bit of help with before I go all around the houses only to find out there was a simpler way of sorting it, so here goes: 1st one is that the drivers side indicators are not working, passenger side is, hazards also work with all 6 indicators working? When you indicate right it sounds like you have a bulb out as relay ticks like mad but no lights flash except on dash! I took front indicator lense off and used a live tester and there is no power, But when I switch hazards on and test bulb holder the earth is flashing as a live, so live and earth of bulb holder have swapped polarity..??
2nd problem: when I got the car the battery was flat due to it being if the road since 2009, after getting the car up and running I noticed drivers door lock was very very hot after about half hour, I took door panel off and disconnected the lock heater, door handle was not jammed up and I'm a bit miffed as to what is the problem?
3rd problem: the roof has a slight leak on the front corners where it meets the top of the windscreen which fingers crossed has nothing to do with problem 1 & 2, I have looked on zone wiki but can't make out what it is I have to do to adjust it, both roof and seals are in good condition..?
Other than them 3 issues car seems to be in good order so fingers crossed car will be back on the road in near future.
Thanks for your help in advance, Dan.
P.s I have my 2.5 touring sitting next to it so trying relays etc should be easy enough..
Thanks again.
Help please

1st problem sounds like the indicator switch - sure I had a similar problem on the bronze turd and a replacement switch cured it - cheap as chips and easily available secondhand

Agree with Rob regarding the indicator switch!
Never played with heated door locks, they were a very rare option in the UK,common in Sweden though...
Try a bit of vasaline
or silicone grease smeared lightly on the corners of the hood rubber seal.

Thinking further about this,I think that this gadget is fed from the red/black wire that also feeds the central locking,so a possible cause is a corroded pin in the A pillar connector. The usual advice here is the 'red/black wire mod' to eliminate the said wire's loop through the driver's door, but I have a sneaking feeling that this will stop your heated lock from functioning altogether!bmwowner wrote:cheers for help, will give will give them a go after work. Didnt know the heated door lock was not common as i have had it on 3 of the 4 e30's ive owned and just assumed the other one wasnt working... Still learning

Put Vaseline on corners of roof rubbers as suggested, the heavens opened and there i was sitting in the drivers seat with a torch pointing at where it had been leaking and low and behold water is still p***ing through!! Not happy at all! Was quite confident that was going to work as there is nothing visually wrong with the seals or the roof and roof is also lined up central. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Pretty please
