Got an M40 I want to run up and check before going through the hassle of digging out the engine crane and actually fitting it.

It's sat on a cradle at the moment, so wanted to run it up where it is.
It's got the complete loom attached, but what wires/pins do I need to connect at the c101 to get it running?

Cheers

You don't need anything at the C101. Just bridge a wire from the battery + to the coil, and start from the diagnostic plug.

Yep, you can also go through the C101 but basically, earth straps, live into the loom, ignition and start

Cool, thanks guys. So basically, I give the starter and coil 12v, bridge the DME relay to get the ECU working and bridge pin 11 and 14 of the diag plug to spin the starter. Once its running, disconnect pin 11 and 14 and it will happily sit there idling?

Applying 12 volts to the coil will backfeed to the ECU, switching it on, and in turn switching the DME relay on, so you won't need to bridge it.
