Hi all :)

Jut thought i would post some pics updating work my Alpina c2 2,5 ( you know the one that belonged to dan allnatt)

She now has new front wings, bonnet, valance, bargain of the century mint sunroof panel, outer and inner sills, inner and outer wheel arches and a couple of plates, one under the bonnet and one next to the rear towing eye!

I bought a proper six branch manifold and stainless system, an e36 m3 steering rack, standard new front brake callipers ( my mate works at euros and got them for 39.95+ each!!) Oil cooler from a 325i, Radiator from a 320i with air con (its massive compared to stock)

The alpina wheels have been powdercoated and all new badges brought from sythner of maidenhead. The steering wheel is going of to be retrimmed and im replacing the black houndstooth for beige as the car is be painted in alpina blue.

The question is what do you guys think?

i like what your doing with the car but if it were me I'd keep the colour original to keep some value in the car should you ever sell it on.

Yeah i know what your saying, but to me the polaris silver just doesnt suit it, plus spending all this money i may just make my dream alpina. thanks for the input!

I would leave out the side skirts and rear valance and just run the front and rear spoilers. I always thought the rear valance and side skirts ruined the lines.

Definitely do it Alpina blue. At the end of the day, it's an old E30 and not a 250GTO. It's been reshelled already, has a lot of miles on the clock and thus will never be worth top dollar to a collector. Alpina blue will only improve the car, as would Alpina greeen.

Keep up the good work - more pics!

Yeah im thinking the blue with the chrome, with the side stripes, without the zender bodykit now. Deffo better than the polaris silver/rust brown combo she was before! :D

I can deeply sympathise with the bodywork. If you've taken your time to get rid of the rust, then you should have the car exactly how you want it to compensate.

The Alpina colours are in the Wiki, under "Alpinablau" and "Alpinagrun"

isnt that bodykit and alpina body kit ? factory ?

polaris is a rare e30 color and not many about, i wouldnt change it and be worth more original and as factory as possible, although alpina blue is super

Yeah is was dans car, she didnt look too bad until one day the side skirt detached itself at the rear wheel arch!

Yeah thay are all original but too my mind the only proper side skirt for these early e30s are the tech one kit, the zender skirts look good but the front to rear joint looks very half arsed!

The skirts are made by pfeba...not strictly Alpina, but used by Sytners on most c2's

Good to see Dan's old motor getting the love it needs!

Colour choice is down to the guy paying the painter, this car is no blushing virgin, afterall.
I guess that it depends on wether one prefers a blushing virgin over the older, more experienced lady. :o:

What are you planning on doing with the side skirts? If they are staying off the car I may be interested in them as my car is polaris silver...

that alpina blue is nice, blue with gold or white stripes, or green with gold are both super

is it having a full bare shell 100% re spray ? and all doors 100% stripped etc , so every trace of silver is gone ?

Hi just a quick pictureless update atm, car has been completely stripped of any silver whatsoever, but due to loads of panels etc needing replacing this wasnt too bad. And yes she is going alpina blue..

I have been experimenting with the e36 rack in mytech1 so far, just needs plumbing doing now,

Engine is back in and shes now running. I ended up doing the bodywork myself and have experimented with painting it myself using a friends spray booth. A couple of panels have been done but no where near complete yet. Recaro seats are ready to be stiched together, houndstooth material was hard to come by, i got the last of it for my seats.

Alpina steering wheel has been retrimmed and back and looks lovely, well impressed, thanks Royal Steering Wheels!

Will upload pictures soon as i get to my workshop!
