I want the pinouts so I can find the voltage output for my maf project. eventually I'll have to take readinga on the car but would be nice to have pinouts to hand so I can play with my spare afm to get some sample project code working before I brave the cold.

De Hosh, have you seen the Porsche 944 AFM repair instructions : http://frwilk.com/944dme/afm.htm
It contains some useful information about the AFMs (like the M40 one). I think it has a different connector, but I think it's possible to figure out what's what if you take the lid off. I tested mine this way, and plotted a good graph, but you'd need to take many more readings if you plan to use the data in earnest. And if you do I'd recommend you get a known good one, maybe even get a new one which can be returned.
Are you planning on installing the MAF in series with the AFM on the car to collect data? Would not be a bad plan if you can pipe it all up, but I did like that leaf-blower set up!

Hi neil, yes cheers I've read the porsche page in the past but had forgotten about it!! Thanks dude!!!
I've got two AFMs right now. one on the car and another in the house so I'll be sure to take readings from both.
The only way I can think of to get like for like output readings is to install in series. Maybe with RPM reference also, mainly to help reference "sites" to make it easier to tweak the fueling afterwards but I'm not 100% sure rpm is nescessary, I'm learning as I go and I don't know much about engines so will have to play it by ear so to speak until it all comes together.
Cheers again for the nfo.
