My L reg touring has water soaking into the carpet under the back seats, and the rear pockets (in boot) are filling up. I guess its likely to be next stop sunroof drains, are there any easy fixes i need to check before i remove the headlining? Is the headlining easy to remove on these? Bloody british summers...might as well silicone it shut, doesnt look like i will need it for a while...

Check the gaskets on the rear lights first.

A very common place for water to leak into a touring is via the plastic grommets that hold the 'shark fin' trim pieces in place behind the rear side windows. These shrink naturally, and must be renewed as a matter of course every time the trim is removed.

You can take a peek at the sunroof tray if you unclip the rear door rubber at the top of the aperture and remove the rear grab handles and then gently peel back the lining fabric along the top of the door opening on the wet side of the car and prise the liner down a little.
This allows you to spot in an instant if the drain tubes are rusted off. Plus, all can be put back with the minimum of damage.
The give away on mine was that the rear passenger footwell was sodden and upon lifting the material that sits under the rear fold up seats I found the rear bench was soaked.
Water used to flow down the C pillar and onto the top of the rear wheel arch, then either under the back seat or into the boot area.

Thanks for the tips, i had a good look earlier and can see alot of water has come in via the light seals. Will be using the above method to check the sunroof tray too, fingers crossed its ok!
