They are technically known by BMW as outer wheel houses (zoners refer to them as "inner arches") The reason for this is that BMW didn't technically make an "outer arch" repair panel, they just offer full rear quarter panels. If you look at any rear arches on the E30, you will see that the rear arches are made of 3 panels per side:
1. Inner wheel house - The panel you see in the boot that attaches to the boot floor, where the rear strut top bolts to also
2. Outer wheel house - This is the one you want, between inner arch panel (1.) and the rear quarter panel
3. Rear Quarter panels - The exterior panel you see from the outside. Pattern arch panels are available.

BMW only for sure, they aren't £179 each either you can get them for well under £100 each, or at least I could 7 or 8 months ago from Stratstone.
