Lads- my sport failed its MOT on a couple of things, center box being one- cheers Griffs for the temporary use of the scorp!! the other was the top mounts- to be fair they were totally shagged. I replaced them with GSF ones only to be told afterwards of a rumor that GSF ones arent worth a carrot. im planning on sticking some lowering springs on in the future (yes too poor to venture for shocks as well!) and wondered if anyone has had problems with the GSF ones- i.e. will the lowering springs eat them alive or was that a one off! cheers

i think there has been posts written before about the dodgy quality of bushes/mountings from GSF,although i havent had any experience with them personally!

PS welcome to the Zone :)

My 327i has GSF bushes and top mounts all round, I've lowered it with Eibach springs and gas dampers and have bee round the Nurburgring in it, all without fault or incident.

Having said that I'd get the e46 top mounts for your sport.

Cheers,

yes, get the e46 cab mounts, they are apparently upgraded units. I have them on mine, they look physically the same as the original e30 mount. Don't forget the gaskets!

I have read a few things about the quality of the GSF/ECP bushes/mounts, and I've had some bad experiences myself (rear top mounts that lasted about 14 months and front anti-roll bar links that lasted 10 months) I think you should enquire about the prices at the dealers, for some reason, people are afraid I think, you may be pleasantly surprised, I've bought nearly all my bushes etc from BMW, and I doubt it costs much more than the GSF/ECP stuff.

i went through 3 sets of rear top mounts from ecp in a year,my hard spax suspension wouldnt have helped though, bought a set from bmw for a couple of quid more and theyve lasted 6 months so far.
