are there any special tools i need to do this, any guides available on the net.

or am i better off getting a garage to do it

cheers i looked on google but couldnt find anything specific on the timming of the vanos etc

dont know bought it from a breakers yard, it has warranty but id rather fix it if affordable.

looks like part of the gasket has blown out

thought you had to time-sert the block if you remove the head
