Where's the best place to buy body panels from? I ordered a o/s lower rear corner panel and it's nowhere near right. I'm not looking for perfection but something useable would do. I suspect all the panels come from one manufacturer, in which case I'm not going to get anything decent.

Is it definatly the right one? Pre and post facelift are different, I'm sure. When buying aftermarket panels you have to expect some issues with fitment, but it should be doable.driftwood wrote:Where's the best place to buy body panels from? Maybe there is a difference between pre and facelift lower rear corners but no one offers a choice of pre or facelift, there is only one type available and the one I have is unusable. Luckily the supplier said they would take it back.

Well give us a clue which side and how much you need, the crystal ball is in for a service. A picture may be good for this.

Here you go, pic's. I think it had a knock and didn't get repaired properly as it was covered with filler and sealer. Or maybe it's because the battery is mounted in the boot at this corner. Perhaps it leaked and started the corrosion.

Basically, what I need is the bit that's painted black. It folds under the boot floor/well to support it. It wraps round the rear of the car and is welded to the rear panel.

As you can see, it took out part of the floor,

and part of the rear valence. What's the one on your car like? I thought about buying a new rear panel but it doesn't seem worth it just for a small patch.
None of this has to be perfect, I'm not looking for a concours finish but at the same time it cannot look cr*p. A good second hand lower corner would be superior to a pattern part and would fit perfectly.

This is the panel that I bought. It's got odd odd shape pressed into the top edge that looks like it's supposed to be there but doesn't match my car. The angle of the curve at the front edge that forms the wheelarch is way off. The swage line along the middle should run all the way round the rear,

but it doesn't and there isn't enough material to wrap round to meet the rear panel. Maybe it would fit a pre-facelift car better.
