Hi, I'm still having trouble with the cold starts on my re-shelled '89 m2b20. motronic 1.1
The donor car was an auto. It fires up on 1 or 2 cylinders the first few tries, after a few more attempts the other cylinders fire up.
I've checked and or replaced the following; cps, tps, ecu, fuel pump.dme and pump relays temp sensor, afm, coil,ht leads plugs dist cap rotor arm thus far nothing has changed. The engine was sat on a pallet in a dusty workshop for 5 yrs before being reinstated.
As yet it hasn't been out on the open road for a good drive.
Perhaps the fuel rail and injectors are next on the list ?
slow to start auto to man conv.

Thanks for reply Willnz, yes fuel and filter fresh and no vac leaks. However
I'm very embarrassed to say the temp sensor wiring was broken at the connector, I feel a right chump now for posting before checking it. Can't believe I missed it. Sorry
Starting and running properly, at last..

Good point, I have a spare set to post when the cash is in handwillnz wrote:I would still consider servicing the injectors. After 20+ years of service, they are bound to be in need of some TLC.
