You shouldn't need to do any drilling. You will need to tap out a pre-stamped blank for the pipework though:

See where the battery cable enters the inner wing? See the flat rusty area above it? Tap that with a hammer and an oval piece of metal should pop out.

you won't "see" it until you've hit it. Just tap the area under the bonnet catch in your photo; put a cloth over it first if you want to protect your paint.

You will need to cut a hole in the trans tunnel for the rubber drain boot

I wouldnt recommend not using a tropical/aircon radiator, its better to have the extra vent in the front panel but not ultimately necessary, I dont have any vent in the front panel on my chromie because its a povo early model, works ok when driving along but at a standstill it gets hot very quickly! Make sure the elec fan you use is in tip top condition

tropical rad is deeper (i.e. not thicker or wider)

the two hole valance is not really required as the majority of the condensor radiator is up behind the grill anyway, as for the rad i cannot comment as all here have the tropical rad.

you can see here how high the condensor is, and the electric fan that is definately required
