I bought the car a month ago, all the green lights were on.
In the space of the last week it has dropped down to 3 green lights lit, and yesterday the clock and inspection light came on.
Is it normal for the inspection light to be on as well as three green lights? or is it just a reflection of the cold weather and short journeys I have been doing?
Cheers Bri
Service indicator lights?

When the SI boards pack up it is usually the rechargeable batteries on the board that have died, if you are handy with a soldering iron you can replace them.
When I actually did mine I soldered a double AA battery holder to it with a length of wire so the batteries are mounted on the back of the cluster and much easier to change if they go again
check out www.maplins.co.uk for the parts.

Clock symbol and inspection is just a simple 12 month timer. Nothing to do with the green lights at all.
Failing SI board batteries are affected by cold weather, but I don't really think there's anything wrong with yours.

Treat it to a service fine, it will always benefit from this, but that won't do anything about your service lights on dash board, you do realise yes? A plug in electrical tool turns off, or re-sets these.

Or just use a short length of wire:jesmond wrote:Treat it to a service fine, it will always benefit from this, but that won't do anything about your service lights on dash board, you do realise yes? A plug in electrical tool turns off, or re-sets these.

I always use this method and it works well and is cheaper than forking out for the tool.

Sabrje, that sounds interesting, can you tell me what you do, where you place the wire etc. I ask as I cannot visit your link for whatever reason.sabrje wrote:Or just use a short length of wire:jesmond wrote:Treat it to a service fine, it will always benefit from this, but that won't do anything about your service lights on dash board, you do realise yes? Essentially you connect two of the pins in diagnostic socket and turn on the ignition for a few seconds.
