Hi all
How is an engine compression test done guys? Can a test be done without the use of particularly specialist equipment. If so, what do I need to do to carry one out myself.

You need a compression tester I'm afraid mate, you disconnect the king lead (HT lead from the coil pack) then unscrew each sparkplug in turn. You screw the compression tester in where the spark plug would be and crank the engine over. A gauge records the compression. Hope this helps....
