MPG...

Hello.

Simple question - how accurate is the MPG needle on the dash?
Feel like it's telling me I'm doing better than i am even though it works like new!

I have a recently tuned low milage M40 316i auto that only gets around 24mpg (on a mostly urban cycle).

£64 for 250 miles!

IF the injectors are in good condition, and IF there are no leaks, the MPG needle below the tacho. is accurate, but it only shows instantaneous MPG, so is no use for working out overall MPG.
BMW's figure for your car is 28 MPG.
