Hi All, does this have a battery that needs to be replaced.?

When I store my car during the winter months, I disconnect the battery. Now that it is reconnected, the OBC is in German and I cannot seem to get it to respond by pushing in the reset/setting button.

All I see are a bit of german and three dashes that flash on and off.

Many thanks. :D

PS. If there is a battery that should be replaced, how does one remove the OBC, please.

Thanks again.

No battery in the OBC, it will reset to Default german settings if the battery is disconected.

Hi Kam. Thanks for confirming that there's no backup battery. Yes it has reset it self to German mode. How do I stop this, as fiddling with little reset button is not having any affect.

These is your bit you need.

Common Problems
Setting Units
If the power supply has been disconnected, then the OBC resets to German and metric units. To set it to the appropriate units of measurement, press AVG MPH. Then, using a ballpoint pen, press the changeover contact button once (the little button located on the lower right corner). Press AVG MPH once more for American units, twice for Imperial (M/G), and thrice for metric (L/100). Press the changeover contact button again to set.
