I'll be fitting an M20B25 lump from an E34, complete with gearbox, and I need a prop. Now, proper E30 325i props are 60quid over here, but 324td props are plentiful and are only 6mm shorter overall.

On top of that, it seems the diesel prop uses the same rubber guibo as the E34 - 96mm compared to the E30's 78mm.

So; do I strip the gearbox end off my old 320i, fix it to the E34 box and use a 325i prop, OR just keep the E34 box and use the diesel prop?

the e34 box might be a direct 5th which could alter your final drive requirements. Or is it a getrag 260 box then ignore me.

I'd just fit the 2.5 engine/ecu itself to the 320/box/prop. Make sure you keep the 320 release bearing. the flywheel/clutch unless knackered is the same as the 2.0 so leave it on. You won't kill the 320 stuff unless you drift it everyday.

Yeah, it's a straight M20 swap Si, so it'll be a 260 'box.

I figured as much that keeping the old 320 box was the simplest way to go. I've already got a new bearing and donut, but the clutch was stamped "1987" so I think that's due for renewal 8O

you'll find with the newer clutches that they are much lighter on the pedal. Barrys sport is on its original clutch and its bloody heavy, compared to my c2 wagons clutch which is less than 5 years old.

Heavy clutch is good for drag racing, though you probably wont fare well with an M20 :D
