Injectors are back, will be fitting them in the morning, also picking up a roll cage for it tomorrow
It's nearly finished at last!

There is a note in with the injectors saying occasionally injectors get stuck after being cleaned, something to do with the cleaning fluid evaporating and making them stick, so you need to give them a tap when the engine is running to free them if it happens apparentlyRav335uk wrote:Make sure the injectors are firing, some , i've heard, are stuck.

Pretty much! Still got the full dash in with radio, but the carpets and back seats are out. It's only a weekend fun/trackday car so not going too mad with making it lighter or anything like that.leeparkes wrote:Jer is this a fully stripped out track chariot?
Nearly there.
Going to my Dads garage now to fit the injectors, really hope it finally runs properly now!

Were the old injectors bad? they normally give you a printout with flow rates etc...

No, not too bad really, the flow rate was down on all of them, one more than the others, and the same one had a poor spray pattern.
I've put them in and now the idle is nice and steady, for the first time since I've put the engine in! Going to get the emissions checked again and get my MOT certificate and tax if all is well

Got it back and took it for a drive earlier, drives very well! Overtaking is so easy with all that torque
Got the rollcage to fit this week and a few little issues that showed up while driving it earlier. The oil light on the check panel came on for a bit for some reason, checked oil level and it is fine, it has gone off now though.

WMS front brakes and new wishbones with Powerflex eccentric M3 bushes fitted this week
Just waiting for the antiroll bar bushes and then the front end is finished as well. Ordered up a sheet of aluminium to make the door cards as the standard ones hit on the roll cage door bars, and I've got some steel box section now to weld up some subframes for my Cobra seats.

Looking good!

WMS E30 brake kits! (4-pot 280mm & 300mm front / 2-pot 290mm rear)

Seat subframes made
I just used some 40x20mm steel box section, and a cheap second hand cobra subframe for a mini that I modified to fit, all done for about £20, much cheaper than buying proper e30 Cobra subframes. It's not finished in this pic, but that's how it goes together:

Just got to make the door cards now with the aluminium sheet I bought, and get some rollcage padding then that's pretty much it ready for trackdays

So they are
I was surprised how light they are, got them for quite cheap 2nd hand on ebay.
I've taken out the centre airvents in the dash now and sealed up the ducting, ready to fit a panel in with some extra VDO gauges I bought ages ago. Other than that just been tidying a few bits up on the car this week

Smart, I like how you've put the check panel in the dash
I ended up keeping the check panel where it was, but the rollcage blocks off most of it

Been doing all the small jobs over the last couple of weeks, roll cage padding, tidying up wiring etc. Bought some ATE Superblue brake fluid to go in now I know the brakes are all working ok, £14 a litre from my local GSF and in stock too

Sorted out putting in some threaded bar in the spare wheel well to hold the spare wheels down nice and securely. Going to weld up something so removing the spare wheels is a bit easier than undoing the nut on top

Yes, but something on a bigger scale like a knock-off hub nut

Nearly everything done on the to-do-list ready for a trackday on the 28th. Going to take the car to work a few days this week and next to get some miles on it and make sure everything is ok

Put a few miles on the car his week, only faults so far are some drips coming out the heater matrix, and the headlamp main beam flash doesn't work when you pull the stalk towards you, and I have all the bits in the shed to fix them
The LSD I've fitted and the dusty concrete in the yard at my work is good fun

Yea I'd like to get it weighed just out interest, and get it rolling roaded to see what power it is making at some point. Fingers crossed nothing breaks on it's first trackday abusing
