Tourer 316 L reg
Everything passed except for the emissions
First idle test came up as 0.80%
Second fast idle came in as 0.74%
The paper says they should be at 0.30% vol
Natural test came in at 0.61% should have been 0.50%vol.
I`ve cleaned the ICV,TPS and no change.
Anybody got any ideas on what else i can do to get it through the emissions?
This Fkn thing has cost me two days loss in pay so far, apart from set fire to the bloody thing i at a loss as what else to do.
mot fail high emissons

Are these the CO values? I thought it had to be below 3.5% but that might just be for a 325.

It's an L reg so it goes through the cat test

Only if it's 'standard'!Bristol_Jer wrote:It's an L reg so it goes through the cat test
Stick a M50 or 52 in it, and it's tested to the older standards.
Run it on LPG, and it's tested to the older standards.
Fit it with a pre 8/92 M40 engine, or one on which the identifying marks can't be read, as they would be if they had been ground off, and it's tested to the older standards, although you may have to prove it's not the original engine.
Your reason for failure at the moment, could be just a failed cat.

It will be ( or the tester assumed it was), otherwise it wouldn't have failed, but that doesn't mean it has to remain so!Bristol_Jer wrote:Sorry, yes just assumed it was a standard car
Evidence of an earlier engine would be an AFM with a CO adjustment pot., exhaust manifold gasket wth heat shields (or the remains of) and the absence of a fuel vapour canister, valve and plumbing.
