Hi All,

First post here so please be gentle with me :)

I have had an advisory last year on brake pipe corrosion. I was thinking of changing the whole lot while I am at it.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a them from or should I just use the local auto factor?

I have seen the copper Automec ones on ebay. Are these OK? I assume that whatever kit I buy will need "forming".

Is it possible to still find original OE sections?

Many Thanks

Bertie

Dealers do pre-terminated lengths, come in a roll so you'll still need to shape them to fit.

If you are replacing them , to prevent rusting again go for copper pipes.

this, i did mine for the mot a few weeks ago, i only had to do the rear ones generally easy to do, but the pipe that bends over the top of the petrol tank is trcky to get at.

I would replace with kunifer, very easy to form and work with.

If you must replace with steel, your local dealer will be delighted to sell you the correct length of steel pipe, complete with fittings and flared ends, snag is,you will need to bend them to the correct shape.

Be aware that the rear pipes are great fun to access, the three way adaptor is placed just where it is very difficult to get at.For a full brake pipe replacement, consideration should be given to removing the rear beam at the same time, this,of course, leads you into the 'whilst I have the bloody thing in bits' syndrome.......
