I don't know is this common for these cars but loads of E46 I've driven don't have this issue.
Anyway, when I lift clutch to the bite point and give it slight gas and moving If I not lift it up full it starts to make noise under car like loud ''tktktkt'' and when I press it quickly down I can hear ''clunk''.
This means I can park in reverse only when I hit the pedal above 1500rpm or very very slowly and gently work with clutch.
Clutch replaced last year, in normal driving no clunks, shifts smooth...
driveshaft/clutch clunking?
