Ever since an oil service my oil warning light has been on (on the check panel). The dip stick goes above the max mark, what kind of usual mistake could I have made?
Cheers!
Oil light on after service... too much oil?

Actually it did go off during a drive down to Bedford. Any way to un-stuck it manually?

The oil level sensor is inside a can with only a small hole top and bottom for the oil to flow through. After refilling the sump it can take several minutes for cold new oil to fill the can.
Or it could just have been stuck.
The way to clean them is to remove the sensor (it's fixing hole is just above the oil level in the sump, so no need to drain), and place it in a baked bean sized tin can filled with petrol. Lift it out, let it drain and place it back in. Do this several times, changing the petrol if it becomes too dirty.

Right under the alternator, in the top of the sump.
