Hi guys, I think I know what the problem is just want to run it past you lot in case it might be something else.

I have clunk noise from the front, and I'm as sure as I can be its the RH side. My cars on 169K its a 316i (original top mounts to my knowledge), it happens more so when I hit a bump or when turning, I went down the quiet lanes the other day and swerved left-right again and again.

I've had the wheels off and all seems well, besides a drop link that needs attention but its not shot and thats on the LH side. (i've ordered poly bushes for them now). All the ball joints are good, the bearings are good. Slightly sticky RH caliper.

I can get the noise to happen when I push up and down on the drivers wing, its easier to hear with the bonnet open.

thanks Jonesy.

sounds like the top mount but could be a drop link if the bush has gone and then worn badly.

if you take the cap of the top mount [19mm nut underneath] then push down you and watch for play and feel for clicking around the rubber at the same time.

I dont think its drop link and its just sounds too much on the right.

Didn't think of taking the cap off i'll try that thanks :)
