So there is a fair bit of noise coming from the engine bay after timing belt change. increases at revs and is noisy at idle and dies down between 900 an 1200rpm

Any suggestions, mechanic pointed it out and said it wasn't a good timing belt(goodyear) which I supplied. Said to drive and see if it gets any better.

Engine m20b25.

Thanks

It may help if you desribe the noise. Is it a whirr, wish, rattle, tapping etc

i found i got a whirr from a belt change, tension was correct as i did the job twice in the end, it must have either been a bit of a rough surface on the belt or a slightly noisy tensioner as it did settle down after a while.

Did you change the tensioner? Did you change the waterpump?
