Hi I've been having problems with my alarm lately, whilst driving along sometimes it randomly locks me in. I'll unlock it and it just keeps locking, this isn't the worst of my worrys. It also just decides to arm (when locking via fob) but not lock the doors. Then I try and lock the doors and the central locking fails. It's driving me mad just trying to lock the car. I had issues the other night of the alarm going off at 5 in the morning but think it was the book sensor as had a fiddle and this has stopped.

I've found that the unit is a Serpi Star / Gemel GR-480 apparently its fitted from factory (it looks it). Ive done some research but can't find anything. I hope someone can help or point me in the right direction thanks.

did you try reprogramming it mate.what kind of fob is it is it the one with the corner cut of it.also when the red button is pressed does the light on the fob flash or is it a constant light as i can help reprogramming if it flashes.also if the alternator or battery is dodgy it can be mad mine used to come on while i was driving lol

I haven't done no, no its black with two grey buttons (one ribbed one smooth) and a red led In the middle. I think its the same as the "red button" fob, but instead of red its ribbed. Yes it flashes once when pressed once.

The random locking is almost certainly caused by the alarm. The OE central locking is ultra reliable, and doesn't have any known faults, OTHER than those caused by external things, such as letting the ECU get flooded, power feed problems caused by electrolytic corrosion, and the odd mechanical failure of a lock motor.
Disconnecting the lock and unlock request wires between the locking ECU and the alarm will prove the point.
