well sinced I smashed my sump yesterday I am going to pick up a new one tomorrow
now the thing is this is the first classic car I have had so I aint got a clue which oil to put in it, with all the modern cars I've had ive used 10w40, should I use the same with my e30? and should it be part or fully synthetic? its a 1989 1.8 8v and done about 100000 miles, any help would be great, and once again sorry for being a n00b

10w40 semi-syn will be fine. I use OEM filters from BMW @£11ish
As it's the first change (any history?) and if you can spare £30 buy a gold 5Ltr tub of Semi-Synth Diesel oil and a filter from a motor factor. Run it for 500 miles then drop it as diesel oil has more cleansing agents added it will help clean out the engine a bit.
