hi ive got a cab but i have to keep puttin the windows up and down wen i open and close the door for the window to go under the roof. I know that the newer coupe windows automatically go up and down when the door is opened and closed(dont know about the cabs), has anyone installed this on the e30, if so what do u need to do?

worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but it never really gets you anywhere

yeah not needed if roof and windows aligned properly. Get a bentley manual it explains how to do it.
but would admit it would be a good idea, i wonder if the control unit and window motor could be taken from a E34 cab/coupe? I also wonder what ttriggers it, presumable the door handle when opening but on closing is it the light switch?

its the e36 that has this "trick", both coupes and cabs. its correctly said that it is triggered by the door handle when opening but its not the light switch when closing for the simple reason that it doesnt have a light switch as e30 do! I think its the lock itself that does the job.
I have ask a few car electricians here in Greece for that (its a great idea as the "one touch" window switch is, if u know what i mean) but all said it cant be done...
If anyone though has found out the way, i sure would like to know...
