Ha! I wish. Only 5000 were imported to the US and who knows how many survivors there are today but I do know they are getting more and more expensive ranging from 10-30K USD typically.

you say "only 5000" total production was 17,000 so the US took a fair chunk!

In the states, California cars are coveted because the weather is nice year round. There is no snow and doesn't rain often so our cars don't rust out. Really, the perfect climate for cars unless of course you live close to the ocean, then salt in the air can cause surface rust over time. I acquired the white car less than 2 years ago and it has some rust in the battery tray area and around the sunroof but nothing major.

I have been looking to refinish the 15" basketweaves on my cab for a while but I needed another set of wheels to ride on. I saw an 84 318i in the local classifieds for $800, which isn't particularly interesting except it had factory BMW style 10's on it! I contacted the owner, offered her a set of stock 14" wheels + $100 US and she jumped at it. The wheels were rough but straight and perfect for a refurb project. Sorry I didn't take any before pics but they were curb rashed and the paint was worn out. Here's how they look now...

I had the lips polished and refinished the centers with Wurth silver wheel spray and clear lacquer.

I'd like to ask, were Style 10's rare in Europe as well? In the US, we could only get these from the dealer through the accessory catalog.

I'm not sure about that response......I was referring to your cars. it could be you understood the joke, or being from the U. S of A, it's gone right over your head.

However, nice cars so the weighbridge can wait :D
