Not sure if any one has the answer to this but just thought I would see.

So basically opened my car fine with the fob doors open and alarm off. Drive for bit get out, lock it and the realise i have forgotten something. unlock all good and then 1 min late alarm starts going off, fob completely unresponsive, close the door alarm goes off, but thats not much help obviously, fob still not working car is immobilised.

Tried various things with no success.

Did the following from the manual to put in diagnostics mode. now the alarm doesn't sound and the car isn't immobilised but the fob still not working batteries etc.. are fine and have tried the spare fob and nothing. the light on the led flashes briefly when you turn the ignition on however.

This is what I did but without opening and closing everything.

!
By activating the diagnostic procedure, the alarm is putted back to the initial state, as it was programmed by Gemini.
Therefore, you are kindly requested to carry out a diagnostic test, before pin-code or programming modification.
To start the procedure, follow the instructions below:

3Switch off the system power supply.
APPROPRIATE CONTAINER ONLY
3Press and hold pressed the status LED push-button or short circuit the RED and BLACK wires on the 2-way connector of the LED.
3Switch on the system power supply; once the alarm is power supplied, 4 acoustic signals and 4 turn signal flashes will indicate the ”adiagnostic”a state.
3By opening a vehicle's door, the siren will be activated for 2”a while by activating any other device, at every receiving of alarm or signals from electrical connections (i.e. hood button), one turn signal flashing and one acoustic signal will be emitted.
3Release the state LED button or remove the short circuit, previously created.
3One turn signal flashing and one acoustic signal will indicate the end of diagnostic procedure.

Any ideas would be helpful about how to switch it back on.

Link to manual.

On the ones my dad used to fit, you had to operate every armed circuit in diag mode, so the alarm knew what it was monitoring.

Short answer, Yes.

The system will give you a short sound on the siren and 1 flash of the indicators to confirm that the circuit has been "Added".
