It shouldn't be a ball ache, the amount of work is just the same like with the m50b25 engine - you have to have engine and box (actually the box from m20 suits too, with minor modifications). The engine should be the straight swap, no mounts should be modified. The only real custom work is sorting out the loom. Can't tell about the price - it's different in UK and Latvia.
Anyway good luck, m8

it probably will cost you a fair few quid mate as not many, if any garages will want to do that kind of job, so you are prob looking at Ԛ£1k for labour as people will just quote telephone numbers at you to avoid taking the job and even then, probably mess you about.

I was going to suggest my old man as he has a decent lock-up in Wymondham but it will be a bit here and a bit there sort of job and probably end up taking him 6 months plus.

There are one or two such conversions knocking about on here, 6potwill had such a conversion, but I think it may have been the 325 lump and I think he bought the car converted. There was a write up on the car in tbmw a month or so back I think.

Ooops, didn't take in account that LHD cars have a bit different probs from RHD. With LHD there are no such a problems
Tng21-> why don't you go for m30b35 swap? I suppose it's easier to get 250+ bhp out of it and it's more torqueeeeeeee winkeye

M52B28 conversion should be the same as a M50B25 which has been well documented on this site.
Exhaust manifold should be easier to modify because its tubular steel rather than cast. Electrics will be a bit more complicated. Make sure you get all the EWS gear with the engine ECU and loom. Think you may even need the instrument cluster as well for some set up purposes, as the BMW diagnostic machine misses it and sulks if its not there.
