As title
Got a M20 engine (325i) out of a 1989 car.

Whats the order on the leads?

Firing order is 1 - 5 - 3 - 6 - 2 - 4 .. is that correct?
With cylinder 1 being at the front of the car.

But what I dont know is where the leads go on the distributor cap, as I have 7 leads coming out the lead rail.
I can work out which lead goes to which cylinder ..

So what order does the leads go onto the distributor cap?

This is the cap I have ..

and yes I know I should have marked it before I removed it :o:

p.s - i didnt put it in the m20 section as I NEED an answer by tomorrow morning!

Thanks in advance :D

If its a genuine cap IIRC if you clean all that shyte off it the connectors are numbered.

Failing that :

Take the top off the rail that holds the leads together and make sure they are all correctly routed.

Perhaps it's time for a new dizzy cap as well mate...given its state, they are cheap enough. :D
