My heater has decided to leak into the cab on the passengers side( on my nice new carpets). I will not have time this weekend to pull the heater and assorted pipes out to check it and fix it. There are two hoses leading into the fire wall beside the break master cylinder. I assume one brings the hot coolant in and one brings it out. I was going to detach them and fit some piping so that one runs into the other. This way the water does not enter the heating system. I was going to leave it this way for a week so that I can spend next week fixing it properly. Anyone tried something similar. I did the same years ago to a toyota that decided to squirt hot coolant everywhere.

No problems with this. halfords and motor factors usually stock hose joiners

You can either block them off or connect them together. Whichever is easiest.
Hose is 16mm.

thanks short cut worked well. When I pull the heater system out is there anyting worth doing at the same time apart from finding the leak?

Yes; check that your coolant pressure cap has been replaced under the 1996 safety recall.xavier wrote: is there anyting worth doing at the same time apart from finding the leak?

Do you mean the radiator cap?
