The tyres were fitted with an air bazooka, the are pretty stretched.
Not really my cup of tea but they were on there when I got the set.
When these are due change I will be getting 235's
The ride is ok, not to harsh but the suspension take's out most bumps.
The rear will have to lift about 1 cm as the rims are touching the fenders...

my suspension isnt shot.. its perfectly fine thanks. and i think youll find my offset is perfect with my standard wheels thanks. you lot on this site are retarded if you think that lower profile tyres and lower, stiffer suspension makes a car handle worse.. if this is the case why arent touring cars raised in the air with massive tyres? because it makes it handle like a boat.ross_jsy wrote:There is a difference between stance and shot suspension with wrong sized tired and what appear to be wrong offset wheels...I'm sure mine don't tuck that muchlukec88 wrote:

they're 14's, so the offset is different to 15's ~ et35 vs et24 or there abouts, so that's that cleared up
have to disagree re tire changes, handing will alter, but won't be 'better' BMW haven't got they are today without extensive R&D based on 205.55's
handling isn't quantified by sidewall roll effecting grip levels, the tire is part of the suspension, as is the rear beam bush, it's complicated.
If you alter tire dimensions, you'll need to reverse engineer the suspension from the ground upwards, compensating for the difference. ARB, dampers, spring rates, bush compounds

but also my point is that i dont care about the performace change by having a slightly skinnier tyre on my wheels. in my opinion it looks better and it isnt going to rub at all on my arch so its what i want.

I have slightly smaller profile and very much improved suspension but my car doesn't look fooked like yours. Why is that?

Because yours isn't decked on it's arse Dezmond with zero upgrades!
When I were a lad I had cars slammed because that's how I wanted to roll. I too thought the handling was vastly improved but with a few years experience and wisdom I realised that my youthful ideas were in fact complete bollox. As completely condecending as that sounds, it's true. I'm not going to dis anyone who wants to just slam their ride if that's how they want to roll, but they're fair game for a flaming if they insist on it being an improvement when all they've done is whack some eBay coilovers/cheap springs/cut/heated springs etc and say yeah my car is well stance'd innit....

I heard you know a bit about tyres
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Because touring cars aren't lowered on shite springs with collapsing bushes?lukec88 wrote: my suspension isnt shot.. its perfectly fine thanks. and i think youll find my offset is perfect with my standard wheels thanks. you lot on this site are retarded if you think that lower profile tyres and lower, stiffer suspension makes a car handle worse.. if this is the case why arent touring cars raised in the air with massive tyres? because it makes it handle like a boat.
Yes, race cars are low but they achieve this using other methods than lowering springs. You have to drop the body of the car on the mounts otherwise you start massively effecting things like roll centre, ackerman etc etc etc. That, and touring car suspension is nothing like the crap that is on a 25+ year old 3 series

Sorry but from a safety standpoint thats foolish.lukec88 wrote:but also my point is that i dont care about the performace change by having a slightly skinnier tyre on my wheels. in my opinion it looks better and it isnt going to rub at all on my arch so its what i want.
You have a duty of care to other motorists, what you've done has reduced your ability to control your car, have you declared to your insurers that you have fitted non manufacturer spec size tyres?
Picture the scene, its a bit damp you're giving it large and need to stop suddenly, would it not be better to stop before slamming yourself into the people carrier or mother and child in a micra?
Its Your life dude, do what makes you happy, just remember you are driving a car with reduced grip and diminished handling charachteristics...
