Lock it before disconnecting the battery!
A good service of the mechanism in the driver's door should make it lock and unlock from the key.
In the meantime, lean across the car from outside the passenger door, push down the button on the driver's door, push down the button on the passenger door and close the passenger door.
Might be a good idea to check that it'll unlock on the key from one of the doors before doing this. Lift the outside handle at the same time as turning the key if necessary.

Thanks for the reply, non of the key locks seem to work with no power, so my fear was the battery going flat and me being locked out! This wasn't a problem before because the car was at the side of the house and i didn't need to lock it.
Thanks
Thanks

If you can't get the locks to work without power, find a length of insulated wire, connect it to the battery positive clamp, tape it all up with PVC tape to insulate it, and leave the free end of the wire wire coiled up under the front wheel arch, or somewhere else of your choice.
When you want to bring the car back to life, place the battery beside the car, uncoil your wire and connect it to the positive terminal, then connect a second piece of wire between the battery negative terminal and bare metalwork on the car somewhere, which should bring the central locking back to life.
