thats pretty much every spot of rust on the car be it soft or just surface rust.
now for the serious task at hand a price to sell her on as this is a bit out my league :( and even if i tryed it wouldent be up to the standard this car needs.
Injections nice....but I'd rather be blown ;)

No, when you re-shell you fit everything from the old shell to the new, plates 'n' all

i thought that was only possible on a brand new shell? which i doubt are avalible as if it was re-shell'd in to a good doner it would be classed as a ringer ?

Hello

If it's been sitting for 10-12 years, do you have any pictures of what it was like 10-12 years ago? :)

Technically yes I suppose, but these things go on!

As long as the scuttlectomy is done well who's to know?

Well its either that or bin the lot as that rot is beyond repairable. Classic car preservation, not ringing 8)

I'd take that on

You'd need new outer sills, rear quarters and a scuttle. And you'd need lots of new steel to fix the inner sills, floor pan, bulkhead and inner wings. But fook it, a project's a project.

The MGB and E type boys have it easy - you can essentially just buy a new body. I wonder if that day will ever come for the E30

It would be a mission to be sure, but worth doing IMO.

But is it definately the oldest one surviving? Would be a right bummer if you threw a load of money at it and then an older one shows up!

My old man fragged an early 323i back in the 90's, it had 350k on the clock and was a genuine 1 owner car, the chap still drives a E36 328 on a N plate which he traded the E30 in for it.

It was a Y plate in met blue/silver and last time I was in BMW Mcr I was trying to find more info on it because the service guy sold it to my dad, sadly I've not seen my dad for over 6yrs and I know he has loads of pics of it somewhere.

What a terrible shame. It's scrap really - I doubt there's much actually worth selling from it. What it needs is storing somewhere dry until it's vaguely financially viable.
