Very happy chappy when i connected the loom and it started first time with no issues or dash lights :D

I have a clear overhead check panel (bar no washer bottle and a light out ), my rev counter now works as does the swingometer and temp guage.

:D
Image

Also painted the cam cover to spruce things up a bit

Here is a video of it all working, i'am quite pleased with my self if i may say so

Here are the pictures of the mounts, engine does not move and sits exactly where it should

Image

Started pulling carpet out for new interior

all was good on the passengers side

Image

however drivers side will be getting some welding when it goes for MOT

Had enough by this stage and called it a day.

ive got some 4 pot wire covers and m3 batter tray covers on the way so that will tidy engine bay up aswell.

next up is to fit the danthe loom and sort exhaust.

To my supprise i noticed the front end to be full polybushed

Would be a bit loud

i think the downpipes are all standard to be honest.

the previous owner has welded some pipe to the end of the v and bent it back into line but its a mess

I don't understand why they would weld them so far apart, when they come down through the engine bay together?

god knows its not as bad as my diagram shows but you get the point :D

Does a bit need cutting and rotating for it to sit right ?

They should come down the same as the M20 manifolds do, no different other than diameter of the pipe size.

strange, wonder if the extra pipe has made them sit funny. Are they suppose to have a bit of flex type exhaust pipe after the manifold ?

Once you cut the downpipes loosen the manifold nuts a few turns and you will be able to position them where you want then tighten back up. Simple. :)

This pic shows how there bolted on, you can twist em all over the shop to get a good fit. 8)

this is the only picture that shows it, if you look carefully you can see the flex bit which is attached to what looks like the manifold

Highly Doubt it, Looks like a i need a new manifold and possibly use current down pipes

What manifold do i have fitted ?

Wish i knew what car it was out of originally. Do the manifold studs snap like m20s 8O

Saying that there is a spare manifold in the boot of it ummm

And Cheers Dez :D

Linkage is standard so must be an E30 rack AFAIK

You never know with this set up Dez.
They are standard manifolds but cant understand why that flexi is on it, they clear the linkage (just) without cutting normally thats why i asked if it was a quicker rack (pinion closer to the manifold)

The only other reason it would be cut is if the engine isnt straight in the bay. 8O

Do you (or previous owner) know who did this swap?

the flexi bit doesnt look like its been added, so rav might be on the right wave length

engine sits pretty well to be honest

i belive the previous owner bought it allready on the e30 mounts and did the rest

Just undo the manifold to downpipe bolts a couple of turns to take some tension off the springs then you should be able to bend them where you like.
