Well i started this job last summer and wanted to try keep it quiet untill it was out and finished but people got on to me so i might just aswell make a thread of it now with the few pics i took when i had a camera on me when i was working on it, the problem was i was just working in my spare time at it so that could have been few hours 1 week and maybe a day each month :D

Image

First stage was to remove the rebuilt M20 engine

well that was the easy bit as everything was still easy screwed as it was only 2 months before when i fitted the M20, next was to go and collect my M30 auto engine and 535 sport manual gearbox from a friend SSkoda on here,

Image

I wanted to give the new engine a freshen up with some paint and fit some new gaskets and just fix whatever it needed before it went in the car,

Next was to source some manual bits such as a flywheel and clutch kit and a E34 manual loom as the auto has alot of wires and would never be as neat as the manual loom,I managed to source a light weight solid flywheel from a E28 instead of the M30 standard dual mass anchor so that should help the engine spin up nice and quick, also my new LUK clutch kit arrived for the solid fly set up, so next was to get them bolted on the block,

Had abit of trouble finding a manual loom but got 1 in the end and my custom made mounts arrived aswell thanks Lee :D, got the loom modified to work on the E30 chassis without any wires showing as i wanted it look factory spec, next i got the gearbox cleaned up and filled with new ATF fluid and bolted it up along with fitting the loom to the engine and some water pipes, i give the mounts a lick of paint then and just set them on loose incase they needed to be moved when am fitting the engine, it was starting to look good at this stage i thought :D

Then i noticed the exhaust mani bolts looked abit rusted and beat so i rethreaded them and fitted new stainless bolts, hopefully they won't rust like the standard ones did,

There has been loads more of small bits i done as you's all no when doing this job without taking photo's, fitting the E34 throttle cable was one of them, its handy when engine is out to get the cable changed, will update more when i find the rest of the pics i took  you bm guys let me know how am doing so for with it :D
