If its leaking from the bottom of the pump, then the pump is not on straight. Did you get rid of all the old gasket? fit a new one? What make was the pump? some seam to be far worse than others.
have you cleaed the waterways of the engine/rad with a a hose and cleaner? You don't have a blockage do you?
It may pressurerising the coolant system, pretty common m10 thing. Try running it with the thermostate forced open all the time.
When is it over heating, traffic or just all the time?

never chaged the gasket just waterpump and thermo leaks as soon as it ticks over and overheats standing still

The water pump should of had a thin paperish type gasket with it.
So it overheats pretty much straigh away?
If it is then its the either the head gasket, cyclinder head itself or its quite likely to be the bottom end. M10's crack around the cyclinder head bolts if water or oil has been left in the thread before reasembly. This happened to my first m10.
New engine time! m10's are cheap mind, easily pick a good runner up for Ԛ£50

also how do u depressurise thenCode: Select all
You can't is a crack in the cyclinder head that is letting exhuast gases into the cooling system. Can you try and get the snapped bolt out? Is any of it sticking out when you have removed the pump?
